How to Correct Listing Errors (Admin)

This topic describes some common errors that occur on listing entry, and how the MLS administrator can correct them. For help resolving errors that are not listed here, please contact FBS Support (support@flexmls.com).

Change the Property Type of a Listing

If a listing has been saved with an incorrect property type, the administrator or the member must cancel the listing and reenter it with the correct property type.

Note

If a property type is selected by default when creating a new listing, members may accept the default, which could be incorrect. If this is a common error, you may want to turn on the MLS setting Require selection of property type when adding a listing (no default selection).

Remove or Edit the Major Change Description

The Major Change Description can be edited by admins with MLS-level broker load or the root user.

To edit the Major Change Description, edit the listing. You can do this by either selecting Edit Listing in the dropdown menu from the chevron next to the listing, or by selecting Change Listing under Add/Change on the menu.

In the Change Listing page, select Listing Information. Under the Main Fields tab, scroll to the bottom of the page, and edit the Major Change Description field. Click Save Changes.

Change Listing Status from Active to Coming Soon

To change a listing status from Active to Coming soon, you will need to delete the listing and then recreate it. There is no programming that allows admins to change a listing status from Active to Coming Soon.

Force a Listing to Expired Status

In order for a listing to not have to wait for the auto-expire script, you will need to change the listing back to Active with an expiration date in the future. In the Status section of the Change Listing page, select Extend or Expire, and then set the applicable date to a date in the past. If you change the expiration date to the past when you re-activate a listing, the listing will not be pushed to Expired right away.

Change Days Off Market field to correct the Days On Market

If allowed by MLS rules, and if days off market are subtracted from DOM, the administrator can manually adjust days on market by changing the value in the Days Off Market field for a listing. Open the listing in edit mode, click Listing Information, click the Main Fields tab, and locate the Days Off Market field. When you save the listing, the days on market number will be updated accordingly. Refer to the Verify and Correct Days on Market (DOM) for a Listing help page for more information.
